He's Here!!!

Sweet Evan Anson Krum arrived on April 28th at 7:56 pm. He's a linebacker, weighing in at 8 lb 10 oz and 20.5 inches long! Atta boy! That's why I was so hunrgy the last month of my pregnancy. The delivery was good... and lightning fast! He is a sweet, mellow baby. We are all so happy he's finally here!

I guess I am far enough along now that I can officially announce that I'm pregnant!! I am sure this comes as a surpise to no one as many have wondered where I've been for the past 6 weeks. No, I have not gone inactive, I have just been pretty sick. But I feel like I am coming out of it. I still have not desire to eat anyting, have no energy, and still live off frozen Gatorade, but at least I am not vomiting. So, YEAH!!! Anywho, I'm due April 24, but considering all my babies have been 4 days late and on a Friday, the baby will be here on the 28th or 30th. This is the caboose for us, so we are happy to start raising our 4 little chitlins.

Summer Break!!!

HELLO AGAIN!!!! I took the summer off from blogging mainly due to laziness! But, now that school has started, I have decided to update what we've been up to. This summer went WAY too fast. I really enjoyed having everyone home and being on our own schedule. We boated lots, swam lots, stayed up late, slept in, visited my family back east, visited the Kings in Utah, had 4 birthday parties, and went to Six Flags. We had lots of fun. I love my family so much. We have the most fun when we are together. The kids are hilarious and love being with us... for now!

So, caroline started 1st grade on Tues. Today was her 1st full day experience (till 2:15). She loves her teacher and has friends in her class! She loves school and learning and makes her momma very proud!

My little Haidyn had her 1st day of preschool today! She was so brave. She just ran over to the playgound and yelled "bye mom" without looking back :( . Haidyn is such a little social butterfly so I wasn't real worried about her. I am just not ready for her to grow up yet.

Kindergarten Graduation

So last week Caroline had her Kindergarten Graduation!!!!! I cannot believe she is headed to First Grade. Caroine has truly amazed me this year. She has come out of her shell and has blossomed into this little smart, sweet, social butterfly. She idolizes her teaches and loves all of her little friends. She is an amazing reader and is reading whole books by herself. She is very good at sounding out any word she sees. She has just stated math and is always quizzing me (if I have you 6 cookies and you ate 3, how many would you have left?). At her graduation, they sent home little journals that they wrote and drew in every month. I was so impressed with how much she has learned. Her 1st entry wasn't even words that made sense and the picture was a stick figure. Her last entry was a couple of sentences about going skiing with Dad and she even drew a picture of her and Dad skiing together. Now that I think of it, most the entries were about her and Justin. So cute!! Anyway, I am so proud of my baby. Time flies. She is growing up way too fast.

So for her Gradutaion they sang "First Grade, First Grade" to the tune of "New York, New York." It was so cute! They dressed in little top hats. And afterwards we told Caroline she could pick the place we'd eat dinner. I was looking forward to that because usually she choosed something with steak... her favorite meal! But she threw us a curveball and asked for IHOP. I cannot even tell you how much we did not want IHOP!! But she insisted. So we took her to Perko's (like IHOP). She ddin't know the difference! She still got her happy face pancakes!

So a couple of months ago Justin bought me an iPhone (a couple of days after he forgot our anniversary, so that was his "sorry"). He had been trying to buy me one for months but I insisted that I didn't need one because I am a stay-at-home moma and my cheap, outdated phone suited me just fine. When I realized what the present was, I asked him to take it back to the store because it was a waste of money and I would just break it. I have a bad history with phones. I pretty much go through phones like socks! I am always losing them, dropping them in toilets (seriously), letting Taylor chew on them (before they were dropped in the toilet!!), spiiling stuff on them, and the list goes on. So, I definitely did not need a phone that would cost a fortune to replace. He said I had to keep it because he couldn't return it. He told me to try it and if I didn't like it, he would give it to someone else. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I gave it a try.

And here I am 3 months later and boy I am eating some crow! I LOVE THIS PHONE!!! It has honestly changed my life. It is so funny for me to say that because I am the most techno-stupid person alive. I don't care about electronics-gadets at all. I think they are all a giant waste of time and money. But this phone is different. I love it so much that i have decided to honor my phone in a top 10 list.

Top 10 Reasons Why I Love My iPhone:

1. I can get my email on my phone wherever I am at.

2. The Fast Food App: After the temple the other weekend, we were looking for a Taco Bell but couldn't find one. I was able to pull up my fast food app and search the closet Taco Bell. Then I clicked on the address and it showed me the map of how to get there.

3. I can check stocks on my phone to see how poor I am now :-(

4. The USA Today App: I am a big news buff. I have Fox News on in the house/car all day long and now I can check the news on my phone! I am waiting for the Fox News app.

5. There is a little notepad that I use for everything! I write my to-do lists and grocery lists on there. I always have my phone so I don't have to worry about leaving my lists at home!

6. Podcasts: I have downloaded several Sesame Street, Dora, and Diego Podcasts (videos) for th kids. They love this. I love it more because I can give it to Taylor at the store or in the car to keep her quiet.

7. iPod: I had a iPod a couple of years ago but never used it except to exercise. But since this one is on my phone, I am always listening to it... in the car, at the park, in line at Target. This also keeps the kids occupied!

8. Baby Beluga: We have been singing this to Taylor every night to get her to sleep. After 15 minutes, I get pretty sick of singing! So, I found this song on iTunes and play it for her at night instead of having to sing it! I just lay it next to her head. She loves it so much that she has started bringing me the phone at bedtime and asking for her "Ba-Bu-Ga."

9. The camera: Seriously, you can't beat all these things in one gadget! There have been many times that I have forgotten my camera but have had my iPhone so I don't miss the photo-op! It even takes pretty good pictures.

10. Internet Access: Justin got standed in Chicago the other day and called me to get him a hotel asap so he wouldn't have to sleep in the airport. I wasn't home. So I whipped out my phone, logged on to priceline, booked him a hotel, emailed him the reservation, and called the hotel to have the shuttle pick him up. This seriously took less than 1 minute!

I could go on, but I am tired and need to set my alarm...on my iPhone. And my room is so dark, so I guess I will use my flashlight app to find my way around :-)

I love you, iPhone. And I love you Justin for the awesome gift and for always being right.

Busy Spring Break!

Man, Spring Break came and went... thank goodness! I was so worried that the kids would be bored all week, and thankfully I was wrong. By the end of the week they were exhausted. Here is what we have been up to:

1- Our ward had a Temple Trip on Friday. Justin took the day off to go with me, which was awesome! It has been hard for us to go together (b/c of the little one), so this was an extra special treat! And then young women babysit at the Temple so our kids got to come! Those girls are AMAZING!!!!

2- We weened Taylor! This is a big deal because I thought this day would never come! She won't take a bottle or a pacifier, so I serve as both to her. Yes, that was quite frustrating, especially in the middle of the night! So, last Thurs Justin put her to bed and she pretty much cried in his arms all night. I know.. so sad. That was a bad night for all of us. But the next night she only cried for 30 min and know she just whimpers for 5 min. But best of all, she sleeps thought the night...12 hrs!!!!
3- Justin's company was in the Rodeo Parade. That was a lot of fun and the girls loved walking in the parade. They both waved like little princesses! Then we went to the Rodeo that afternoon and watched the bull-riding! I thought it was a little cruel but I still had fun!

4- Easter stuff! The kids went to the ward party on Sat and then we had a family party on Sunday. They all loved finding the eggs and still have tons of Candy. Jayden found the silver egg with the money in it!!!

4- Went to GO Bananas with cousins!! It is an indoor bounce house in Lathrop. If you haven't gone, you need to go. We have so much fun everytime we go. Even the adults get to bounce!
5- We had family in town for several days, which is always fun. Justin's cousin Craig got married (he lived with us last summer).

6- Justin, Jarett, Haylie, Caroline, and I went snowboarding/skiiing on Friday. This was my 1st time snowboarding and it was so fun! It is a lot like wakeboarding so I was somewhat comfortable doing it. I cannot wait to go next winter! Caroline did another ski class and is getting so good. She blew past me on the bunny slope and kept laughing at me when I fell (which was a lot!!!)

Hi Krum Girls!

Yes, we went boating today, MARCH 28th! It was in the mid-70's, so we figured it was time to go BOATING!!! We have all been dying to go out, especially the girls. Justin bought them fishing poles the other day and ever since they have been begging to go fishing... nonstop. They were so excited to actually cast their line in water an not grass. We did not catch anything, but the girls were not being exactly patient either. I think they assumed you catch a fish as soon as you cast!! But they still had a blast and koved bonding with Justin.

This one of the many reasons why I love living in California. And BTW, we did go boarding and the water was not too bad. I was nice and warm in my wetsuit, and Jarett wore Justin's (hood and all... see photo). Justin and Aaron went bare-skinned.....brrrrrrrr! I think the water was 62.

My girls are going through the silliest phase! I am loving this stage in life! Caroline is into playing practical jokes, specifically taping things on people's backs. She fakes you out by giving you a hug and then she will tape something to your back. I went half a day with a sign taped to my back before she told me, and of course it was the day I went to Target, Costco, etc (she just drew a pitcture on it... she hasn't figured out the whole "kick me" thing yet). The other day, she got her report card and told me she was pretty sure she got all "F's." She was trying to say "S's." (They get U's or S's). It was so funnny. She is always hiding and then when I go to look for her, she jumps out and scares me.

Haidyn has always been a little.... or a lot... on the wild side. We were at Toys R Us and I noticed her talking. I asked who she was talking to, and she told me not to worry about it. But, she kept doing it, so I asked her again. She told be she was talking to her butt! I didn't want to make a big deal about it because if she knew it was funny, she would do it over and over. So, I just said OK. I kept listening to her and she WAS talking to her butt. She asked it if it would like to sit down, if it hurt when she sat down, and where it wanted to go. It was so funny. She also likes to roll her eyes in the back of her head and recite movies (she will play ALL parts, the princess, the prince, etc). She calls everyone her "best friend," even kids she doesn't know. Whenever her and Caroline fight, her comeback is "fine, i am going to marry Morgan" (a kid in Caroline's class).

Taylor is turing into a little independent monkey. She HATES being held and is always asking for her sissies. She loves to cuddle with them and makes them hold her. She will run up to Haidyn and tackle her just to get her to play! She held up a bra at TJ Maxx the other day and said "boo-boos (her word for boobies)." She loves to blow her nose and give kisses. She loves belly buttons and will lift up anyone's shirt (without warning, mind you) to pich their belly button.

So, I am loving my funny kids. Some days I am sad that they are growing up so fast, but I sure am faving fun being around them while they are little!!! I love my little family. Justin is not too bad either! I am so blessed to be married to him and to have such silly girls!

Silly Taylor

So Taylor is going through this super silly phase now. I decided to post little videos of her in action. The 1st one is the kids singing "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam" during Family Home Evening a couple of weeks ago (I know, I'm slow). Caroline and Haidyn have always loved singing this because they can jump and be silly. Now Taylor has followed suit. Check out her mad jumping skills. That cannot feel good on her little behind.

The second video is of Caroline pulling Taylor around on the blanket. Its funny because she will lay so still. Now whenever there is a blanket on the ground, she will lay on it and scream until someone pulls her aound on it. I am so thankful for Caroline and Haidyn. They take such good care of Taylor and are so funny with her. I love my little "mommies."

It seems Taylor has been destroying EVERYTHING lately. I don't remeber the other 2 going through this phase. She tears up mail, magazines, homework, and basically any paper product within her reach. She is constantly clearing out every drawer and cabinet in the house and scattering all its contents.... often in different rooms (she took my blush out of my makeup drawer a while back. I just happened too come across it behind the shutters in my room when I was cleaning the windows!). She also loves playing in the pantry and moving everything around. I haven't minded that so much because she ususally keeps everything in the pantry, so I just pick up after her when she is done. But, last night she chewed open the mac and cheese box and discovered the noodles inside! Needless to say she was entertained, but man WHAT A MESS!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Our Christmas was great! Everyone was happy and we just had a lot of fun being together! The girls' favorite gifts were their gifts to each other. Caroline bought Haidyn a horse and Haidyn bought Caroline a princess frisbee! It's so funny what they think each other would like! I included some pictures! The adirondack chairs the girls are sitting in were handmade by my Dad for Christmas! So cool!

Our New Year's is turning out to be pretty LAME-O!!!! Caroline has been asleep since 4:30 (I think she is sick). Haidyn fell asleep at 7. Taylor is being fussy (teething) and has a dry cough. Justin is tired. And I have a terrible headache! What a bunch of LOSERS!!!! Anyway, I hope we all enjoy good health and happiness in the New Year! My New Year's Resolution is just to be "better" than I was in 2008. Pretty broad!

Today my sweet little baby turned 1!! She has grown up way too fast. I cannot believe how quickly the time flies now! Anyway, I don't think Taylor was too excited about it being her big day. She fussed all morning, and cried so loud at church that I put her in the car and drove around for an hour just to get her to sleep. She didn't care about her gifts... she just wanted to eat the paper. And she just stared at her piece of cake. After 10 minutes, she picked at it but I am not sure she ever actually took a bite. The bath in the sink afterward was the highlight of her day. And then she fell asleep at 7. Happy Birthday my little wild thing!

sorry this is so old! Its been in my drafts forever!

We went on a cruise the beginning of november to the mexican riviera! we bought Pauline and Kenny as "babysitters" and Haylie and Jarett just came to party! We had a blast and enjoyed lots of family bonding. We took the NCL Star, which was a lot nicer than the last RCCL cruise we took (shipwise). However, NCL has moved to freestyle cruising, which I didn't really care for. You get to eat whenever, wherever, and with whomever you please. That sounds like a great idea, but at 7 or 8ish, all the "free" restaurants were packed and you had to wait... which stunk, especially with kids! And they had several "specialty" restuarants that you could eat at but pay a $10-$20 cover per person. We ate the steakhouse and asian specialty restaurants. Don't get me wrong, the food was the best I'd ever eaten, but who wants to pay for food on a cruise!!! That is the whole reason you go... free food! Other than that, the shows were awesome, the ship was super fun (had 3 kids' waterslides and 2 gigantic adult waterslides), and the kids club (the babysitting) was GREAT!! Every night they did a theme (princess party, pirate party, teddy bear party, etc) where they did crafts and sang songs. My girls were begging to go! I only wish Taylor was old enough to go in! She was pretty bored on the boat. So note to self, do not go on another cruise until all the kids are old enough to go into the kids club!!! So, in summary:

1. Not a fan of freestyle cruising

2. Don't cruise with a baby (especially a teething one)

3. My girls LOVE waterslides

4. Mazatlan was beautiful and laid-back.. will def go again! Rent Rhino's (not through the cruise... you will pay about 1/3 of the cost!) and ride them on the beach

5. Book your excursion in Puerto Vallarta through the cruise line (that was almost a nightmare!) Take the tour that goes up to the waterfall. Its beautiful.

6. Dive in Cabo. Its right off the beach

7. Beware of sushi on a cruise ship buffet (I will spare you the details!)

8. Bring babysitters if you are bringing the kids (TOTALLY worth every penny!)

9. I LOVE spending time with my family. The girls are getting old enough to be fun and have fun!

It was a big day in the Krum house today. Taylor took her 1st couple of steps! She just let go of Papa's hand and took 3 steps to me. She may have done more, but I was so suprised that I grabbed her. She did it a couple more times to Justin and Caroline! Big Girl!

Crazy Weekend!

To start off our Halloween fun, we went to the Trunk or Treat at the church. That was fun. The girls got to be in a costume parade and they thought that was so cool. They got lots of candy (good candy!) and loved being dressed up! Then we went home and that's when the real "fun" began. Caroline walked into my room before bed and just barfed (exorcist-style) everywhere. We knew it wasn't because of the candy because she actually didn't eat any! Her tummy was hurting all day...now i know why. She was sick all through Sunday morning. Then Sunday night Haidyn did the same thing, except in the orange "funny bus" (i will post a pic of the new bus later). So needless to say, we had a wild weekend. Both kids are feeling better, but Justin and I are worried we are going to get sick.... and we leave for vacation on Friday!

By the way, Caroline was Ariel, Haidyn was mambo Dora, and Taylor was a chicken.

This might have been our last weekend boating. I think it may rain and be cooler next weekend, and the water is getting cold! Anyway, I decided to take lots of pics this time just in case. I still have not reached my goal of clearing the wake, though I got close and landed on top of it!

Family Update

Caroline LOVES school. She has such sweet teachers and is already learning so much. Haidyn loves the alone time with mommy but starts too miss Caroline right as its time to pick her up. We are thinking of putting her in preschool because she is wanting to learn everything that Cacky is learning. Taylor is learning to stand by herself and loves to eat. We just turned her to a forward facing car seat and i am pretty sure it was the best day of her life!!!

Great America

We went to Great America this past week and had a ton of fun. The kids were tired so they were being a bit scared. They didn't have nearly as many kids' rides as Six Flags, but they had a fun splash park that the kids really enjoyed. Pauline and I got to ride Top Gun which was fun. The park was dead. No lines at all on any ride, seriously. Plus, we bought our tickets at the AAA office which saved us almost $20/tkt! Good times :)

So, i consider myself a park connoisseur. We go to parks quite a bit. And every place we have lived, we have had our "favorite"park. We have been in Oakdale about 8 months and have tried almost every park here and in Riverbank. I was sad that I couldn't find a favorite...one with shade, bathrooms, swings, safety, big and little kid slides, etc. Well this past week we tried Kerr Park.... and LOVED it! We had gone before for a church activity but I totally forgot about it since it is out of the way. There was tons of shade, the bathooms were open and fairly clean, no homeless (no offense to the homeless), it wasn't crowded at all, lots of picinic tables, sand volleyball court (or a giant sandbox for the kids), and lots of play structures. Anyway, I have now found our favorite park.

July 4 Houseboat Trip!

It is a tradition in justin's family to go on the Murdoch's houseboat on July 4th. They were once again gracious enough to invite us to come along. We had a BLAST!! Thank you Murdoch family. You guys are the best and are all a great example to us.

Highlights of the trip were: Justin almost breaking his arm while flipping on his wakeboard (he is OK...just a bad sprain..spent a couple of hours in the ER), Caroline wakeboarding with Justin for the 1st time (which is a BIG deal because she is scared of going underwater), watching the boys tube (especially Brett who went about 10 feet off the water), swimming, wakeboarding at 7 am on perfect water, seeing Pauline faceplant while wakeboarding in a skirt, watching Papa wakeboard, watching Tyler do amazing tricks and making us all feel like losers, The O'Neals lunch, watching the lame houseboat parade, meeting new people, and just being with everyone!

Sorry....i keep forgetting that you can't videotape sideways! But you get the idea!

Taylor just started crawling today!!! I totally wasn't expecting it because she is not even 6 months yet and she just learned to roll over a couple of weeks ago! She is not even sitting up yet. But she wanted one of the girls' toys so she just crawled over to get it. I included a video of her on the move (slowly) and another of her cracking up!

We bought Taylor a Bumbo about a month ago. A Bumbo is a little seat that a baby can sit in as soon as they can hold their head up. They cannot tip out of it and they don't slump over in it either. Taylor loves it, as do I! She sits in it while I cook, do dishes, etc and will be completely content! She feels like a big girl and can actually see what is going on..instead of always staring at the ceiling! WE LOVE BUMBO!!!!!

By the way, Taylor is now rolling over like a pro.

Caroline graduated from preschool today! BIG GIRL. She has just been doing a little joy school with some friends from church and has been having a blast! Graduation was today. Here are some pictures and a video if I can get it to work!

Oakdale Chocolate Festival

Oakdale has a little chocolate festival every year and we went today. The festival used to be sponsored by the Hershey factory in town, but they have since outsourced the plant to MEXICO! Anyway, it was SUPER HOT.....like I'm talking 103!! It was fun. Lots of chocolate sampling and local crafts! We even rode a the Sierra Dinner Train where we sampled more chocolate. I was expecting Amtrack but it went much slowe, probably 15 mph. It just went to the end of Oakdale and back. It was fun and the kids have been dying to ride it.

We just got back from a quick weekend trip to Disneyland! We wanted to get in one last trip before the summer rush and before Caroline starts Kindergarten in the fall . We had a BLAST!!! The girls are becoming roller coaster junkies. Caroline even cried when the park closed. Her favorite ride was the Matterhorn and Haidyn's was Finding Nemo! Taylor just loved being held! We love going to Disneyland because it seems like the kids can ride almost every ride....but why does it have to be so darn expensive!!!!

Mother's Day

Today was CRAZY!!!! I was so excited to wake up today because I figured I would get a break from the norm and be able to relax. WRONG!! The kids woke up screaming at 6:30am, which is early for us. They fought all morning about everything. Taylor was being fussy. And Justin was outside messing with his truck the whole time...totally oblivious! The kids continued to fight all during sacrament, and Taylor wanted to be walked around the whole time at church. I came home and Justin made me salmon and crab cakes (not from scratch, but premade from Costco). That's a big deal because he never cooks and he gags at the smell of ANY fish! The kids kept fighting and I never got the break I was looking for. But as I was putting the girls to bed, they both hugged and kissed me goodnight and screamed "HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!!!!" That made the whole day! I didn't even care that they woke up Taylor :) ! I am so grateful to be a mom and am grateful for my very-close-to-perfect little angels!

Grocery Shopping

This is what it looks like grocery shopping with 3 kids! Haidyn fell asleep on the way there so she rode in the carrier, caroline pushed her cart which was full of groceries, and taylor was in the back of my buggie! we looked ridiculous.

Caroline Gets Her Ears Pierced!!

Caroline has been begging me to get her ears pierced. So, I decided to take her today. The lady only had 1 gun so she could only shoot one ear at a time, which allowed Caroline to freak out after the 1st ear! She did pretty good and quit crying as soon as the lady gave her a sucker. The earrings are pink, of course, and she keeps telling everyone to look at her diamonds! She is very proud of herself for being so brave! We are too. Though now I see why people pierce their kids when they are babies!

I called HP last night and my laptop is still under warranty!!! YEAH! So, once I get that fixed I can keep up with this blog. I think it will be better than having you guys look on Flick...but I will still continue to put my pictures on there.

Just FYI, Caroline spoke in church last Sunday and did AWESOME! She was so brave, spoke loud in microphone, and shared her testimony about Jesus. We were very proud!
